Shape magazine's, Bahar Takhtehchian joined me yesterday to discuss ways we can improve our lives and trim our waistlines with diet and exercise this spring! SHAPE magazine Senior Associate Lifestyle Editor and On-Air TV Expert, Bahar Takhtehchian Candace Rose: What can we do to look and feel our best from the inside out? Bahar Takhtehchian: "Well, really it's all about changing your lifestyle, and that means exercise, sleep and diet. And a lot of us really, we've been using the winter as an excuse to not work out. We've been using it as an excuse to hibernate, and kind of eat comfort foods. So as the spring rolls around you want to make small changes you can actually stick to. So when it comes to exercise, if you haven't been to the gym for months, don't just rush back into it. Take small steps. This can include spending 20 minutes of your lunch hour going outside taking a brisk walk. Not only is the weather great for you, you're getting in fresh air, cool breeze and hopefully some sunshine. But you do this for five days a week, every single day and before you know it you're losing weight. And...

Can you tell us about the show and what inspired it? Paul Fisher: "Oh sure. Candace, I started on this mission, we call it 'a movement' about two and a half years ago to see if we could roll up about 150 modeling agencies around the world; if we could empower agencies in smaller markets, actually the agencies that are discovering the stars in the first place. And we wanted to see if we could roll up these agencies around the world and kind of convince them that they have the power to actually create stars, not just discover them. When Sony Entertainment kind of found out that I was on this mission,...

Veterinarian Dr. Ernie Ward joined me on Friday to discuss simple ways we can keep our pets happy and healthy, and prevent diseases such as heartworm, roundworm and hookworm. Veterinarian Dr. Ernie Ward Candace Rose: What can we do to prevent the spread of heartworm disease? Dr. Ernie Ward: "Heartworm disease is one of those deadly diseases that pet owners often forget about, right? It is transmitted by mosquito bites. The mosquito injects this tiny larva that crawls through the blood stream, winds up locating in the heart and lungs; grows up to be 14 inches long, and of course is deadly. So heartworm disease is something that we want to prevent, and it's as easy as giving a once a month preventive to your dog or cat." Candace Rose: How can we control heartworm and other parasites? Dr. Ernie Ward: "Well, again these heartworm preventives now, they have multiple uses. So I like to try to save my clients money, so I'll look for a product that takes care of heartworm disease- that's deadly, big trouble; fleas- nobody wants to deal with fleas, and intestinal parasites like roundworms and hookworms. You may not be aware of this, but you...

Registered Nurse Linda Ciampa Candace Rose: What can parents do to keep their entire family healthy this winter? Linda Ciampa: "You know, Candace, I think in order to take care of your family, you have to take care of yourself, that's where it starts. It's heart healthy month, and as you know we have a big problem with heart disease in this country, so I want to point out that high cholesterol levels are a risk factor for heart disease. You have to pay attention to your diet- plenty of fruits and vegetables. One of the healthiest fruits you can eat is the blueberry, and you want to eat them fresh, frozen or dried if you can. If you can't I've got a dietary supplement that can make getting the benefits of getting blueberries really easy; I want to tell...
